As the son of a piano teacher and the brother of an accomplished pianist, I grew up surrounded by all things musical. I make this G-clef entirely by hand from borosilicate crystal. The graceful and sweeping curves are accentuated with the colorful application of 24k gold. To create the vibrant rainbow of colors, pure gold is heated to the point of vaporization and applied to the glass while it is still molten. Sculpture measures approximately 6 inches tall and is 3 inches across. To ensure stability, the clef stands on a base that is 2.5 inches wide and is blown from hollow glass. This is an absolutely exquisite sculpture that will bring years of enjoyment to that special music lover.
