Wooden Look, Carbon Performance The AW-400 series is a hybrid carbon fiber bow, featuring high-rigidity, high-quality carbon fiber covered with Pernambuco wood on the surface. It combines the appearance of a wooden bow with the strong resilience of a carbon fiber bow, while the wood-carbon combination reduces the characteristic noise often associated with carbon bows. Furthermore, our research has revealed that brazilin, a pigment found in Pernambuco wood, lowers the bow’s tanδ (loss tangent) parameter, altering its vibration modes and greatly enhancing sound resonance. Even if the bow hair deteriorates after long-term use, you can continue using the bow for many years by having it rehaired.
