This thing is not easy to use. It is easy to have the glass slide sideways during cutting. Setting up for angle cuts is time consuming - at least to begin with. While it does seem to do what it is advertised for, it is a shame that a better designed and sturdier product is not available especially for the price.The instructions to use are there, but not explained well. I tried to call for help, but no one answered the phone. (In fairness, he did call back the next day and left a message.) I watched an online video to help me put it together and use. I didn't do that until after a day of a complete fail, so think I will love it eventually now that I know how it works. Just look online...I adore this system! It beats the heck out of cutting free-hand. You must keep the ruler tightened down to maintain the system's measurement calibration; easy to do. Just be mindful of checking the screw tightness with regularity.Once you figure out the system it is pretty easy to use and precise. It felt to me that the included directions for setting up the system assumed you already knew how to set it up and use it. I had to go online and look for YouTube videos to figure it out, as I'd never used one or seen it in action. Once you get past that, you'll wonder how you ever got by without it.Love it!! Definitely a game changer when cutting glass. I’m wasting less glass and getting straight cuts! It’s easy to use and I feel as if I have more control over scoring. I guess my issue before when I did it by hand I was doing it to much or to little. This gadget makes it so you can make the perfect score line. Especially if you use bullseye glass. It’s not the smoothest and doing it by hand can be tricky.I bought this unit to cut 1/8" mirror for a small project I was making. The instructions that come with it are not in step and deficient for someone who does not know how this thing should go together. Luckily I figured it out as it is simple enough, but down in the bottom of the box, separate from the larger instructions, was a small 4" x 4" piece of paper that told you how to adjust the cutter so it does not mark the aluminum ruler. This is important!! Anyway, once it was assembled, I dunked the cutter in oil and made a cut and was pleasantly surprised at how easy and accurate it was. Finished my project, ground the edges of the mirror and installed. Great little addition to my shop.I'm still getting used to the system but so far I've found cutting super straight lines on streaky or hard to cut textured glass is really good. I haven't perfected doing diamond shapes yet, but I'll be more than happy to up date this review when I do. Price wise, no, this little system is not cheap but! cutting too many 'oops' on spendy glass isn't cheap route to go either. ; )Best way to cut strips I have found!Being a beginner, I have limited funds and space for my stained-glass hobby, so I looked for a small sized glass cutter that could also fit into my budget. So I decided to take a chance on the Mini Beetle Bits cutter, even though there were no reviews posted. My next project will consist of many strips of multi-colored glass and I knew I would not have the experience to cut so many strips accurately. The cutting system arrived quickly and was well packaged. The instructions were clear and I did have a few questions and they were answered by going to the website. I have been cutting pieces for my panel, and I am very satisfied with the results. Even with my arthritis, the cutter is easy to use. I would recommend this product because it is well constructed and most of all it is MADE IN THE USA!
