This paddle is very well-made and very light.I appreciate the slightly oblong form factor of the shaft which makes it a little bit easier to grip then a perfectly round shaft. The adjuster works well and markings are clear. I paddle on a recreational team side-by-side with international competitors and I've had the opportunity to hold my ZNJ paddle in hand with some of the most expensive paddles in the world and the only actual functional advantage for paying hundreds of dollars more is that the expensive paddles are slightly lighter. I mean lighter like a few grams lighter and it's imperceptible. These petals are required to conform to standard sizes and dimensions so the differences in well-made paddles are negligible. Those who would argue with me would probably not pass a blind examination if these paddles were unlabeled. I'm grateful to have a great paddle at a great price. To those of us who are concerned with shaving a few grams off, just go ahead do a few more reps of strength training or skip eating a muffin per month and it will far outweigh the weight change in an expensive paddle.
