The weather station series is based on the Bankers watch by Arne Jacobsen. This clock designed by the famous Danish architect in 1971 for the national bank planned and partially built by him in Copenhagen. The bank couldn't be completed under his leadership, as he surprisingly passed away in 1971. The construction was handed over to the architect duo Dissing + Weitling and the building was completed in 1978. Since then, this highly functionalist construction has been one of the most important designs by Arne Jacobsen. The Rosendahl Design Group acquired the licence for the production of the Arne Jacobsen watches in 2009. Since then, the Bankers have been one of the company's small but fine collection of wall and table clocks. In 2015, the Rosendahl Group decided to sell its designs under the Arne Jacobsen brand.
