Leick Furniture Obsidian Glass Top Wood End Table - Chestnut Oak Finish - Stylish Side Table for Living Room, Bedroom, or Office

I was apprehensive about purchasing the Leick Obsidian Glass-Top End Table. Many reviews were good, but there were also many that told of receiving damaged product. While the Obsidian glass and the wood stain color would look really good in our family room, was it worth the gamble? This sat in my wish list for quite a while before deciding to go ahead and put in the order for two tables. When I received the two boxes, there were just a couple surface scratches on the outside of the box. I felt good about that, so far so good! But I was still anxious about opening the boxes and finding damage to the table parts, especially finding chipped or broken glass. I was amazed to see how meticulously the items were pack in the box with superior protection from damage. I was astonished to see the use of heavy duty inside corner protection, the ample use of styrofoam in every bit of open space, custom cut diagonal pieces of styrofoam to fit alongside the angled frame pieces. Multiple layers of styrofoam sheets cut to exacting dimensions tightly fitting in place. Then foam wrap around parts inside of the styrofoam packing. The glass tops were packaged inside a separate box inside the shipping box, again with ample amount of foam padding and styrofoam sheet. I have never seen a product shipped with such care and expertise. I can't tell you how much this meant to me as a customer and how delighted I was to find everything in perfect condition.Assembly was very easy. Directions were simple and it all went together very well. All holes lined up perfectly and all of the necessary hardware was included. The wood components were manufactured to a very high level of quality and the glass was perfect. The colors of the stain and the glass matched perfectly to the pictures provided on Amazon. They are both very nice-looking pieces of furniture.The one thing that concerned me was the use of small rubber suction cups to hold the glass to the wood frame. I was a little disappointed at this approach. I could see this being a problem with the suction cups losing their attachment to the bottom of the glass periodically. Installing the suction cups into the pre-drilled holes was a bit of a challenge. It was clear where they are to be installed, but it took a lot of careful manipulation to get each one in its place. I wiped the underneath of the glass, where the suctions would make contact, with a clean damp cloth, and I wiped off the suction cups as well. Let them dry, then carefully set the glass on the top of the frame. Well, the good news is that it is holding very well. I can (carefully) lift the unit by the glass and the suctions holds fast. So I'm happy for now. We'll see how this works long term.All-in-all, I am very happy with the new furniture pieces added to our family room and I give high recommendations for the products manufactured and shipped by Leick.
