I needed to do an underground run from my house to my garage and decided on fiber between two Ubiquiti switches to future proof myself a bit and protect it from surges due to ground energy if lightning were to strike nearby.Living very far north I was concerned about burying this too shallow but decided it wouldn’t be a big deal if I had to replace it after winter so it was worth a try. I buried this about 5-6 inches underground last summer and it held up throughout the winter and now into spring with the melt off and ground water from the thawing ground.I didn’t use PVC or any other protection and just buried the wire directly. So far everything has worked flawlessly.
