We got a quote for $2k for a fireplace cover (very comparable to the one pictured) for our basement fireplace. Keep in mind our fireplace is original 1950s and we have been told by workers over the years that it was custom or industrial and not like normal fireplaces but it worked perfectly!This is the exact same one Menards sells but unfortunately the kid didn’t know what he was talking about and actually discouraged us from buying it. We were shocked to see it for sale on Amazon and they offered a better explanation of how it works.The fireplace cover is pretty much secured by tension pins at each corner. It is high quality, easy to install, heavy and very secure when installed. It can cover a variety of sizes, ours on the top end of the large measurements (29x42). It looks amazing! It looks like we spent big bucks when we didn’t.Would highly recommend!
